Tourist Visa –people who need tourist visa to visit the country can apply for it at their local Thai Embassy and this is valid up to 90 days.

Non-Immigrant Visa – it consists of three types of Visas

   1. B Visa: this is required by people who are working in this country or on a business trip. To apply for this, you will need a job offer and a Letter of Approval from the Thai Labour Department, which your employer can obtain for you. After obtaining B visa, you can apply for work permit.
   2. Ed Visa: this is required by people who are studying here. A letter of confirmation from the school or university you will be attending is required for applying for this visa.
   3. O visa: this is required by those who have got married to a Thai national or those who wish to retire to this country.

Non-immigrant visas are needed to be renewed after few months because of which you need to leave the country for a shorter period of time.

Original Passport

When moving to Thailand with personal & household goods you must have your original passport. It should be attested with 1-year visa by immigration in Thailand to ensure that shipment moves into Thailand without import duty and taxes.

Packing List

The packing list must comprehend details of consignment such as number of items, their nature, and values. Don’t forget to check it properly for any prohibited article and sign it after final approval from your end.

Work Permit

Whether you’re relocating to Thailand for residence or job, you must own a work permit so you can get employment in the country. It is a legal document that allows foreign citizens to legally work for Thai Companies.

Original Bill Of Lading (OBL)

Having an agreement of carriage is must when moving your personal and household effects to Thailand. Issued by the carrier, this bill of lading would help the agent to acknowledge whether carrier has delivered the goods at the predefined location or not.

Copy ID card Of Returning Citizens for Air Shipment Only

Returning citizens must be living abroad for one year in order to be applicable for tax and duty-free re-entry. You must know that journey to and from Thailand during the stay of owner of goods in the foreign country would possibly disqualify them from the duty exemption. For this, their passport must have a physical stamp and they need to submit a copy of their Thai Identification Card to the authorities.

90-Day Business Class Visa

The owner of the goods who is non-citizen of Thailand must enter make an entry into country with the 90-day “class B” or business, non-immigrant visa.

Diplomatic Privileges Approval Issued By Ministry Of Foreign Affairs in Thailand

Diplomatic consignments are exempt from duty and tax, but the respective embassy takes 14 business days to processing; hence, documentation must be completed and arrive before the shipment to avoid extra and unnecessary port charges.

  • The next comes in this list is making a checklist to avoid any problem in future.
  • Then comes the Sensible Packing, that means, to assemble all the tools and objects that you are going to need. For this purpose, first make a list of all your requirements for the same, including the entire primary and smaller objects; start with boxes.
  • Make use of uniformly sized boxes, so that they stack together neatly.
