Copy of Passport 

A passport copy should be owned by owner of the goods along with the copy of passports of each of the family members moving along. Make sure you have copies of important pages of passport like photo, long-term visa, and entry stamp.  

Detailed Inventory / Packing List in English

Prepare a detailed inventory list in English mentioning all items to be shipped along with important details like values, models, etc. This list is referred by the customs officers at the time of shipment checking at the port for customs clearance.

Copy of Bill of Lading (OBL) or Air Waybill (AWB)/Sea Waybill

Ensure that the shipping agent in Korea has a copy of Bill of Lading for verifying the shipment receipt at the port. All details of your shipment, including the values, weight, mode of transportation, etc. is mentioned in this BoL for avoiding any inconvenience later.

Valid ARC

An Alien Resident Card or ARC is a Korean National ID Card, which is equally relevant as the social security & identification card. You must ensure that your ARC has validity of minimum of 12 months.

Application for Exemption of Duty By Ministry of Foreign Affairs Korea (Diplomats)

Diplomats have a provision to import their household and personal belongings into the country duty free and for this they just have to fill and submit the duty exemption letter that is being issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Korea.

Customs Declaration Form

All the prohibited as well as dutiable items should be declared in the customs declaration form for avoiding import duty at the time of importation. You must know this fact that personal effects are not applicable for customs clearance before the arrival of owner of the goods.

Power of Attorney
